This 11” x 15” watercolor study was the first of its kind created in preparation for the Indian Wells Arts Festival in the low desert. The negative shapes of cactus on the rocky desert floor can be seen surrounding loose and spontaneous watercolor brushstrokes that suggest the presence of wild agave.
