The Marshmallow plant (Althea officials) was around long before the puffy, sticky treats with the same name. Actually, the toasted campfire snacks common today were once concocted from the root of the Marshmallow plant. Marshmallow has also been used for centuries for skin care due to its softening and anti-inflammatory properties.
