This original oil painting is 7.5” x 8.25” with a 0.75” white border surrounding (8.25” x 9”). Crafted on Arches Oil Paper, it was created out of my interest in color theory and creating color studies in preparation for larger paintings. It depicts a quiet landscape in a calming analogous color scheme. I keep returning to familiar basin shapes and open spaces. The use of arbitrary color mirrors the heightened state of awareness, interconnectedness, and depth of experience I find in the natural world.
