This original oil painting is 9.5” x 6.25” with a 0.75” white border surrounding. Crafted on Arches Oil Paper, it was created out of my interest in color theory and creating color studies in preparation for larger paintings. I’m going through a phase with mineral pigments, in particular the cadmiums— This painting uses cadmium orange, cadmium chartreuse, cadmium yellow light, and cadmium green in an analogous color scheme. Orange is a color I absolutely love, but do not normally use as a dominant color in my paintings. I have been pushing myself to explore new color proportions and bold combinations.
