This original oil painting is 10” x 8” on linen panel. it was created out of my interest in color theory and creating color studies in preparation for larger paintings. This painting explores a split complementary color scheme. I’ve been really interested in the color red recently. In the past it had been a notoriously difficult color for me to use, except in very small amounts, and I have been thoroughly enjoying exploring its variations. This color exploration uses arbitrary color to mirror the heightened state of awareness, interconnectedness, and depth of experience I find in the natural world
