The Bascom's 40th Anniversary Exhibition

I’m delighted to share that my painting, Sam Merrill Trail (2023), will be exhibited at The Bascom: A Center for the Visual Arts in Highlands, North Carolina. The exhibition features work from past Artists-in-Residence, and will be held in the Thompson Gallery from May 24 – August 2, 2025.

This painting features a portion of the hiking trail above Altadena, California, which was recently devastated by the Eaton fire. I am honored that this work will be exhibited, and hope that it is able to offer some beauty and solace to the communities that so recently lost their homes and lives. Altadena was one of my favorite communities in Los Angeles, and this trail leading to Echo Mountain was remarkable for its history and rigor.
